ASDA Direct Late Delivery

I'm furious and I'm sorry I have to start this thread like this, but I just can't stand this situation.

Last week I've ordered a telephone set from Asda Direct, which was suppose to be delivered to my local Asda store by Wednesday (4th of March) the latest, for me to collect.

Yesterday (5th of March) I've decided to call them and when I did, I was re-assured that it will be delivered the same day and that they will send me a text message as well as email to let me know that it's ready to collect.

Today is 6th of March and I've already called the store - they haven't heard of it. I've called Asda customer service - they do not pick up the phone.

I've checked the Tracking history of my Parcel, which is with Home Delivery Network and here's what I've found:

These guys are just taking a piss - I mean parcel was returned to the same depot at Yeovil several times, without being delivered to the store!

What a bunch of useless f...ks!

I just know that I won't ever buy from them online again!

ASDA Credit Card

Mid last month, while we were making our weekly shopping at local ASDA store, at the checkout, bored with all this shopping situation I've started reading some leaflets, which were standing right in front of me.

One of them was the ASDA Credit Card - I really don't need another credit card, but it stated that you can get some reward using it - so why not. We are shopping at ASDA pretty often so if you can get some extra reward - great.

I went online and filled in the application form. After submission I've been informed that they will need some documents from me, which I have sent to them two days later.

The application has been submitted on the 17th of November - until 15th of December I haven't heard from them apart from the letter asking me about sending the proof of address, which I already did several days earlier.

I've decided to get in touch with them, but to my surprise I have found out that they do NOT have a telephone number to contact their customer service.

At least that was what I thought after searching their website and turning the internet upside down in order to find it. However, when I've finally decided to contact Santander Credit Card customer service, they have forwarded my call to ASDA's Credit Card help line. There clearly is the number to talk to someone after all - it just might not be convenient to publish it anywhere.

Anyway - ASDA's call center seem to be somewhere in India - so either way - you won't get your problem solved (and I have a full respect for the guys on the other side of the phone regardless of where they are based as they are trying their best, but simply do not have enough knowledge to assist you).

So - as it stands, the only effective way to contact them is by mail, but I'm a bit worried that after sending my proof of address (document from one of the utility companies) they haven't returned it to me yet. This really worries me, considering that confidential information with my address have been lost by this, as it clearly appears to me - incompetent organisation.

Last week I've received the email from them informing me that my application was successful and that my card is on the way. Today (22nd Dec 2011) I have received another letter dated 15th Dec 2011 asking for a proof of address. Again - temperature of my body has just reached its peak - I mean WHY????

So if you're planning to apply for ASDA Credit Card, try first googling it and read some reviews - to my surprise I wasn't the only one that had such problem.

Lettings R Us clean house (inventory day)

In the previous post I have explained how "professional" Lettings R Us (letting agency from Frome in Somerset) are when it comes to communicating with the tenants after they have signed the agreement.

In this post I would like to show you what - according to Richard from Lettings R Us is a CLEAN HOUSE.

On the inventory most of these items were either very clean or acceptably clean - and Richard seem to be indicating that the local cleaning company (which I will not disclose the name of here as I belive it was one of his 'out of the pocket' lies) was cleaning the house before we moved in.

Clean Oven (marked as 'Fair' according to Richard from Lettings R Us):

but hey - let's not get too picky - it's just an oven - right?

How do you like the professionaly cleaned fridge - hugh? :

or what about the microwave with some left overs?

Dishwasher:

How do you like garden with some weed, children safe pave stone against the fence and freshly cut lawn?
We have been telling them several times to do something about it - but guess what - they never did.

Carpets - apparently professionally cleaned - what do you think?:

Did I mention the leaking ceiling? Oh yes - it was leaking with a little bit of rain, but hey - Richard arranged for it to be sorted out - c'mon - give him some credit - he's not that bad after all!

Now, when it comes to how clean the shower and tabs were - well - check this out:

Don't we all like rusties?

And now the best of all - the amount of lame scale on this tab - I mean c'mon!

The purpose of this blog is to warn the potential tenants who are looking to rent a property in Forme, Somerset.
We have been badly stung by the Lettings R Us and I hope no-one else will have to experience this the way we did. There are many genuine letting agents out there - Lettings R Us is just not one of them.
All pictures have been taken on the 30th of April 2011 (the day we got the keys to the property) - originals with genuine metadata can confirm the creation date if necessary.

Lettings R Us Letting Agency in Frome

In May 2011 my wife and I have decided to move to Somerset from Sussex, where we were living for many years. We've found a property in Frome - a small town on the eastern edge of Somerset.

The representative of Lettings R Us (letting agency) - Richard has explained that the property is very energy efficient, that everything will be professionally clean before we move in etc. We did like the property and have decided that this is going to be our new home for the next few months until we find out more about the surroundings and the property we would like to purchase.

In December 2011 - a couple of days after giving Richard our notice of vacating a property - more than a month in advance, he has sent a text message to my wife at 4PM on Tuesday that the next day they are going to come over with the potential tenants to view the property.

We received the message at 4PM and they have ANNOUNCED - rather than asking whether it is convenient for us - that they are going to come over at 3PM, which is a notice of 23 hours and according to our contract with them they have to give us a reasonable notice of 24 hours.

I'm not that picky, but the fact that they do not ask whether it is convenient for you or not have made me really anxious about the way they have handled this.

Some time after the text my wife has received a phone call, which is when she has realised that she's received a text message and have agreed with one of the ladies working for Richard that it is not convenient for us to have anyone around as we will have some guests over and right before Christmas we have a lot of things to do at home and agreed to re-schedule for the following day at 10.30am.

This evening I have received the same text message (which is what I realised after checking my mobile - what a convenient and effective way of communication between the letting agents and tennants?). I have replied:

"I think you've already spoken to my wife - tomorrow we cannot do - Thursday is ok"

Shortly after sending this message I have received a reply:

"Hi that's ok as we have a key so you do not have to be in tomorrow. Kind Regards ... Lettings R Us."

I have straight away replied with the following:

"We are in, but we cannot have anyone in tomorrow".

Next day (the day they wanted to come over) I have received the following text:

"Hi they are coming from far away can they just pop in for 15-20mins is that ok regards..."

my reply was:

"Not today I'm afraid - tomorrow is fine".

After my last reply I got a phone call form Richard - saying that they are coming over at 3PM to show the property. I was a bit pissed off at this stage - I mean how can you explain it to them if they are not listening and have already decided for you?

I said that I'm sorry, but we have already inform you that we cannot have anyone over this day and this is when I've heard from Richard:

"Ok - we can hold your deposit for a year or longer" after which he's added "I'm coming over at 4PM" and hang up.

Now, he's a great salesman - he knows exactly how to make your feel like you've found the perfect home - it's only when you have to face the truth, after you paid your deposit and signed the papers - that you realise, that all he was tell you is a one massive bullshit.

We have purchased a new property - hence the reason for us to move out, and I'm really not going to let him treat us like this.

Sadly, the agreement we have signed did not mention anything about our 'convenience' - only stating 24 hours - so if you're planning on renting the property - check this clause carefully before signing - and most importantly - DO NOT rent from Lettings R Us in Frome (Somerset) or make sure you have a good solicitor before you do.
